This paper presents the findings of a qualitative study to identify factors that influence Asian communities' access to mental health care and how mental health care is delivered to them. Content analysis identified major themes. Participants also completed a demographic data sheet.

Shields Richmond Nursing Center is pleased to announce the opening of our new Asian Program, located in a dedicated unit and offering a comprehensive range of skilled nursing and rehabilitative services sensitive to the cultural, linguistic, and dietary needs of the Asian community. Our Asian program is staffed by caring bilingual nurses who care for our residents and provide support for their families. We recognize that there are distinct language and cultural challenges that Tagalog and native Chinese language speaker may face in a skilled nursing setting.
